Aramid Fabric (Meta-Aramid, Para-Aramid & Blended)

Meta-aramid, para-aramid and blended aramid fabrics engineered around fibre composition, weight, weave, colour and required protective performance.

Aramid Fabric (Meta-Aramid, Para-Aramid & Blended)

Aramid fabric is available as 100% meta-aramid, 100% para-aramid or a buyer-specified blend. Coverall and protective-apparel constructions include 93/5/2 and 92/5/3 meta-aramid, para-aramid and antistatic blends. Fibre composition, yarn specification, warp and weft density, weave, GSM, width, colour route, breaking and tear strength, finish and applicable flame or heat test method can be developed against the buyer's written requirement.

Aramid textile development

Meta-Aramid, Para-Aramid and Hybrid Fabric Programs

Meta-aramid is selected principally for inherent heat and flame resistance in protective apparel, while para-aramid contributes high strength, reinforcement and cut resistance. A hybrid construction can combine these functions with an antistatic component when the application requires it.

Colour availability depends on the selected fibre. Dope-dyed and dyeable meta-aramid routes support a broad colour program. Para-aramid is normally supplied in its natural colour or in technically available dope-dyed options, so every shade is confirmed against the final fibre and performance requirement.

What buyers should specify

  • Meta-aramid, para-aramid or required blend ratio
  • Antistatic fibre percentage, when required
  • GSM, usable width, weave and colour
  • Warp and weft yarn specification and fabric density
  • Breaking strength, tear strength and dimensional tolerances
  • Required flame, heat, arc or protective test method

Coverall fabric

The 93/5/2 and 92/5/3 constructions shown here refer to meta-aramid, para-aramid and antistatic fibre respectively. Final protective performance is confirmed against the buyer's stated standard and test method.

Aramid fabric questions

Can the fabric be 100% meta-aramid or 100% para-aramid?

Yes. Single-fibre and blended constructions are available, subject to confirming the end use, yarn form, weave and required performance.

Can aramid fabric be made in a custom GSM?

Yes. Common reference weights include 150, 200 and 300 GSM, while custom weights are developed with the corresponding yarn, density, weave and tolerance.

Can every aramid fibre be dyed in every colour?

No single dye route covers every aramid construction. Colour is selected through dope-dyed, dyeable-fibre or piece-dyed options according to the chosen meta-aramid, para-aramid or blended fibre system.

Important specification note

Options shown are representative. Final material, dimensions, performance level, standard, testing, marking and documentation are confirmed against the buyer’s written requirement before supply.
